Quotes from the book "The Silva mind control method"

This is an interesting book from  Jose Silvia on mind control and meditation. I feel little science, little mention of techniques, and a lot of claims on benefits. It almost sounds like a cult ideology but there are similar references in different books and methods in Eastern meditation.

The four types of brain waves recorded in EEG:

The rhythms of brain energy are measured in cycles per second (CPS) with Electroencephalograph (EEG). Generally about 14 CPS and up are called Beta waves; about 7-14 are Alpha; 4-7 Theta; and four below are Delta.

Laws laid out by Silva to follow mind control practice:

  • Law 1: You must desire.
  • Law 2: You must believe
  • Law 3: You must expect
  • Law 4: You cannot create a problem
We can or cannot recall what we experience, but we are always experiencing and all experiences leave memories firmly printed on the brain.

The 3 finger Technique, once it is so thoroughly mastered that you can instantly reach your level and operate consciously there, can be used while you listen to a lecture or read a book.

During meditation before going to sleep, review a problem that can be solved with information or advice.

Words do not just reflect reality, they create reality.

Say to yourself, Day by day, in every way, I am getting better and better.

There are two basic principles:
  • We can think of only one thing at a time, and
  • When we concentrate on a thought, it becomes true because our bodies transform it into action.
Say to yourself, Negative thoughts and suggestions have no influence over me at any level of mind.

First words have special power at deep levels of the mind; second the mind has much firmer command over the body that it is given credit for; and third we are always conscious.

When the will and the imagination are in conflict, it is always the imagination that wins.

Can thoughts influence things? of course; energy can. Can thoughts influence events? Of course; energy can.

It is well known that a teacher who expects less from a student gets less, and one who expects more gets more.

Happy reading !!!
