Freedom VS Laxity

I would like to start this topic with an excellent quotation from Guru Granth Sahib: From woman, man is born; within woman, man is conceived; to woman he is engaged and married. Woman becomes his friend; through woman, the future generations come. When his woman dies, he seeks another woman; to woman he is bound. So why call her bad? From her, kings are born. From woman, woman is born; without woman, there would be no one at all. — Guru Nanak, Every human being should believe in Economic Freedom, Social Status, empowerment, No discrimination for women. It is shame for human beings to note that it took long time for women to get voting right in different countries. Women first won the right to vote in N ew zealand in 1893, in Australia in 1902, and in Finland in 1906. We should strongly oppose the Taliban kind of attitude over women in any part of the world. At the same time, there is thin line of difference between Freedom and Laxity. People respect women they see in temple, not at late

Moral Policing !!!

Hi Friends, By looking at the heading you might have understood, its about the recent incident by Ram Sena in Mangalore . So, Moral Policing is it required ? Ram sena attacked the pub, claiming there are some objectionable activities going in there, which are very much against the tradition of India. Accepted, but you protest in peaceful way not in violent way. On the other hand, Women's Organizations asking to stop TALIBANIZING India. Agreed, No body has right to force any thing by name of tradition. We need to bring awareness in youth about our traditions and culture, that's for sure. I feel really shy when i look at girls dresses now a days. But make them understand by organizing programs on Indian culture in college campuses. Though i don't support the way Ram Sena executed the things, i definitely support the cause . I don't mean i am against pubs, But there need to be an awareness in youth. Enjoyment doesn't mean short clothes, weekly boy friends, we

Republics of INDIA..

Just few days back I started putting my thoughts on paper for what happened on 26th Nov 2008 in Mumbai…..and then came this public holiday 26th January 2009. Well what a coincidence, back in history 26th Nov is the date when constituent assembly passed Indian Constitution in the year 1949. It took two months to adopt the constitution on 26th Jan 1950. This day held so much of importance; we recognized it until we were kids and were supposed to be in school early in the morning to celebrate it, talk about patriotism and about the real heroes (soldiers) also about politicians who helped to build the constitution. As a grownup we learned this day as public holiday and enjoyed being at home, getting up late and end a day with restlessness. It changed, we changed; may be because what we read doesn’t match with what we see….we read We, the people of India, yes we are Indian making our bread and butter from whichever part of the continent we all are very much Indian. We do think about this g

Indian Civilization

Taking a break from Satyam Fiasco news, just want to write about Indian Civilization video i watched on US local television. PBS.org has some good videos on Indian Civilization. you can refer them at below link. http://www.pbs.org/ Some interesting facts i noted during the show: The three oldest languages in the world are Sanskrit, Greek, Latin, they have close pronunciation for below three words. Father, Mother and Horse. Latin and Sanskrit are no more officially spoken anywhere. These are early civilization languages. civilization collapsed due to monsoon failure, which is mostly dependent on cool Himalayan planes and hot waves from south. Aryans migrated to India . They brought Sanskrit and Vedas . Indus river gave name India. Aryans early civilization roots are found in Peshawar, Pakistan. Bitter leaves, mixed with honey is the drink taken by Aryans Called SOMA . Its not part of Hindu civilization but part of Rigveda . Khiber kanumas are another source of this civilization. A

Rise and Fall of SATYAM

-----Views of a Disappointed Shareholder----- Interestingly the answer for the below questions is the very same Satyam......... What is the youngest billion dollar company in India ? Which company posted biggest corporate fraud in the history of India ? It is very evident that every company cooks its accounts books. But cooking public money/interest for Promoters/investors interest. Who is working day and night to get profits for the company? At the end of the day who is taking advantage of it ? A shot in the arm for corporate governance in India and Auditing practices. Who ever is auditing Satyam accounts should also be brought under scanner and punished if proved wrong. Satyam fraud reminds of Enron fraud, both are same lines actually. Check for this historic scandal here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Enron_scandal . Promoters, Auditors should be held responsible for using public money and exploiting employees. You can check interesting opinions in the below article as well. http://hy

Voting Right for NRI's

The topic is about voting right for NRI's. As NRI we can execute our voting right through "PROXY VOTING". Its simple you can assign some one else to execute your right of voting in your constitution. Though postal ballot option is there, it is not possible to print ballots for all the constitutions with all the member names and distributing it to NRI's and then collecting from them, counting votes. That could be herculean task. In this regard, France does allow Internet voting for outside citizens. The below countries allow postal ballot for their citizens outside the country. US, Spain, Italy, Portugal, Canada and UK. The below countries allow to vote at embassy. Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine, Colombia, Venezuela, Peru, France, Russia, Sweden, Philippines, Japan, Dominican Republic and Spain So why cant we fight for our fundamental right.
