Quotes from Buffet

I came to know some things about Buffet while reading his book, here are they for you Lowest paid executive in the top 200 companies of the world. Just $100000 PA. Worlds most Successful investor, was rejected admission into Harvard. $30 Billion (Yes you read it correct, its B not M) charity to Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. If you couldn't say something nice about a person, don't say anything. Its easier to create money than to spend it. In the event of crisis ignore this message. It takes 20 years to build reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you'll do things differently. I watch my every move and i am not much impressed. I am sort of Republican on the production side and Democrat on the distribution side. Whats there in wine, 99% of it is in telling and 1% about drinking. Retirement plans ? 5 to 10 years after i die. Its hard to teach new dog old tricks... More to come in next blog post, happy reading !!!

Road Ahead

Some quotes i liked from Road Ahead , by Bill Gates.... Internet is information highway, don't lose your route in it. Computer is a first day worker always, it cant learn from you. Every buyer knew every seller's price , and every seller knew how much to ask for. Every body is scared of computers and girls, still they have passion for it...once you start using you will get the comfort ability ....... The best things people have made are all things that bring people together..... Yes, there will be problems, but not impossible ones. There will be mistakes, but we will learn from them.... This book is worth reading give a try.....Happy Reading !!!!

Bailout Bonuses

What's cooking ???, What else US public is angry over AIG bonuses and US Congress is fuming over the same and Media is busy in covering all this. Lobbyists you won , bailout money for bonus !!! The bonuses AIG paid are legal obligation for the company it seems. But where the money came from makes the difference. Its hard earned money of people paid in the form of tax to government is paid as bonus in millions of dollars. House is planning 90% tax on this bonus. Still 165 Millions of dollars in bonus....No comments !!! Bank of America another company which received bail out from US Treasury, paid more than 1 billion dollars in bonus to its employees. Citi, Morgan Stanley etc., are not revealing how much they paid on bonuses. This calls for more strict regulations on companies taking bail out. So US House may need to concentrate more on the Big Fishes (top executives) taking millions of dollars of tax money, rather than on small fishes (foreign workers) who are competing for job wit

Gandhi's Irony

The following statement inspired me to write this article. "Beer Baron picks up Gandhi’s Glasses". This article is about Vijay Mallya purchasing Gandhi Glasses in Auction. There is nothing wrong in what he does, i appreciate his responsibility. In fact i am fan of "King Fisher" Calendar:-) He is example of the statement "Live life King Size". But I pity Irony of Gandhi, his Glasses landed up in Beer Glasses. He strongly supported ban on Liquor . And today the Liquor Barron came to his rescue. Not only this, Vijay Mallya acquired sword of Tippu Sultan. Interestingly he also imposed ban on liquor in his kingdom. Is it coincidence ? Destiny ? Irony ? Or something else? Whatever it may be, hats off to you Vijay Mallya . I am sorry Mr. Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. Highest number of Indians in US are Gujarati's, unfortunately no one came to rescue. Because they are busy with their Subway and Hotel businesses in US. More interestingly one of the world

To wipe out the dirt…to stop pointing fingers…VOTE

I was browsing through the site created for Lead India 09 campaigns( http://lead.timesofindia.com/ ) where I got above lines. Pre elections, we could see so many campaigns running parallel to the political parties campaign....what’s the difference between the two…well one could offer sop other couldn’t... We could see communities created on internet, blogs with their notion, sites providing information, newspapers ink your constituency and MP details. People are trying to make democracy a success which had not been so for the past 60 years of Indian Independence. Here is some information I found useful and thought of sharing… 1. Do visit once the Lead India 09 campaign by Times Group ( http://www.lead.timesofindia.com/ ). It’s an initiative by times of India to teach (not to preach) democracy and its aspects and helps you make your decision. Page 2 of Times Of India everyday provides information ranging from the current MPs in Lok Sabha with criminal background to the number of hours o

Elections for the biggest Democratic Nation in the world !!!!

This is about Elections in India - Biggest democracy in the world. Curtain raised for drama (elections), this movie is re-released once in every 5 years generally, Sometimes even before that. On the records, every citizen of India over 18 can execute their primary right i.e voting. People of the country will be selecting their leaders (???) for the next 5 year period. As responsible citizens of India, you have to enroll in the election process of the biggest democracy of the world. It might become your horrible experience with big forms, long queues, waiting for photo session (Photo voter Id Card). Receiving the voter ID card in hand may be more thrilling than getting US Visa. After receiving the voter id card you can go and execute your right to vote on the day of election. While heading to the polling booth you will see several deviations like 'Film Star' Marg , Liquor street, Cash Lane, Caste square, Religion Circle. You should be controlled enough to cross all these hur
