To wipe out the dirt…to stop pointing fingers…VOTE

I was browsing through the site created for Lead India 09 campaigns(http://lead.timesofindia.com/) where I got above lines. Pre elections, we could see so many campaigns running parallel to the political parties campaign....what’s the difference between the two…well one could offer sop other couldn’t...

We could see communities created on internet, blogs with their notion, sites providing information, newspapers ink your constituency and MP details. People are trying to make democracy a success which had not been so for the past 60 years of Indian Independence.

Here is some information I found useful and thought of sharing…
1. Do visit once the Lead India 09 campaign by Times Group (http://www.lead.timesofindia.com/). It’s an initiative by times of India to teach (not to preach) democracy and its aspects and helps you make your decision. Page 2 of Times Of India everyday provides information ranging from the current MPs in Lok Sabha with criminal background to the number of hours our representative actually represent their constituency issue in parliament.
2. For voter registration or change in constituency, another online initiative which is pretty helpful is (http://www.jaagore.com/main.php ). It will also help you determine the assembly constituency you belong to. Go and register yourself to vote. As the saying goes every vote counts in a democracy, I believe an educated vote counts further more.

With all these wonderful initiatives I want to also take one and that will be a request to Election Commission to introduce “None of the Above (NOTA)” option in the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). Because if voters are left with no proper choice because of various political parties decision, we could still let our voice be heard as NO to all and let the political party do the work of revisiting their choice for candidate.
