Jury Duty
US Citizens must be familiar with Jury Duty. Its a new term for rest of us. This is creative idea. Citizens will be part of Law. How far its really required , still arguable.
All US citizens must be part of Jury Duty. They will be attending in court for expressing their views on the case assigned to their group. A group of people will be selected as Jury group. They will be expressing their view on the case.
If a citizen gets summon from court to attend the Jury and he skips without informing or invalid reason, he will be punished up to 5 days in jail or 1500 Cash.
Citizens will be paid for attending the jury duty. Jury duty is assigned by state to the resident citizens of the state. Employer also needs to support employee Jury Duty.
Juror may participate in Civil or Criminal case. For a criminal case all the Juror members need to arrive at consensus. If they don't come to consensus, Judge decision will be final. For a civil case majority of Juror decision is final.
Its expensive and Herculean task to implement in India. But we can think of something like a board of qualified people handling petty cases in their respective regions. So that Courts will get a breather to concentrate on big and pending cases. Several times in India it so happens, the person filing a case in court may or may not get final verdict before he die.
